Project Engineer

Job Description

  • Maintain and support safe working conditions.
  • Be primary customer contact for the following:
    • Quotation generation
    • New/Takeover product and process development, including quality planning.
    • Ongoing product quality concerns
    • Continuous improvement efforts
  • Support manufacturing in troubleshooting product problems/issues for all aspects of manufacturing.
  • Act as the leader of an MRB Team, for evaluation and disposition of nonconforming materials and for implementation of corrective action measures.
  • Support Quality Assurance in developing appropriate inspection criteria and test methods.
  • Generate qualification books and manage qualification process.
  • Assist in the purchase and validation of equipment for manufacturing.
  • Manage projects as assigned by Team Leader.
  • Maintain and support appropriate training guidelines referenced in the Functional Engineering Training Matrix.
  • Keep work areas clean, neat and organized.
  • Promote team atmosphere between departments.
  • Your direct supervisor will be the Engineering Team Leader, who will review your performance with you on an on-going basis.  Your performance will be judged on:
    • Positive attitude and cooperation with other employees / departments
    • Your ability to manage assigned customers and projects efficiently and effectively
    • Your “extra effort”
    • Proactive involvement and continuous improvement efforts
    • Support and adhere to Corporate Mission and Core Value statements and policies of PCI.

Minimum Requirements For Employment

  • Pass company physical.
  • Have (as a minimum) a bachelor’s degree in a mechanical or technical field, or experience acceptable to the president and the majority of the leadership team.
  • Work in a team environment.
  • Demonstrate a strong technical ability.
  • Have the ability to follow verbal or written instruction.
  • Have the ability to interact with customers/suppliers on a daily basis.
  • Take Paulson skills test – test to be evaluated for applicant’s strengths and weaknesses.
  • Have basic computer knowledge in Windows and MS Office (or equivalent).
  • Have strong knowledge of molds and mold design.
  • Have knowledge and working background in injecion molding processing.
  • Demonstrate the ability, commitment and character to emulate the department’s mission, philosophies and policies, and those of Polymer Conversions.
  • Have basic knowledge and commitment to the elements of ISO-9001 and thorough knowledge of the elements applicable to their department.
  • Be willing to undergo random drug testing.
