Polymer Conversions, Inc. - Since 1979
Polymer Conversions, Inc. (PCI) was founded in 1979 by the Bertsch family who still privately own it today; succession planning is in place to protect its customers, employees, vendors and the community; when you become a customer, you become part of our “PCI Family”.
Polymer is in the heart of Orchard Park, NY, a suburb only 15 minutes away from the Buffalo-Niagara International Airport and the Canadian border (Peace Bridge).
The Fun
- We started the business originally as a take-over tooling manufacturer where we injection molded eyeballs for Fisher Price’s Kermit the Frog dolls; manufactured and assembled Kazoos and molded mint-flavored mouth guards for Brimms; molded and decorated many different versions of NCR cash register components; as well as manufactured millions of parts for the GE Electric Knife.
- We’re located on a 15 acre wooded lot providing our employees and guests with a natural environment full of various tree species, birds, flowers, squirrels, ponds full of fish & frogs, the occasional turkey and deer, and if you’re lucky enough to catch them in the front office, a quick visit from the owner and his dog.
- Polymer and its owners remain dedicated to the Western New York area, and often give back to the local community through donations, volunteering, memberships, board positions, offering internships to local high school and college students, and choosing to do business with other small business owners rather than big chain stores.
- The average length of employment at Polymer Conversions is 13½ years. We have very dedicated long-term employees that truly appreciate being part of the Polymer family, and are very passionate about our business philosophies. Some shorter-term employees have even left to experience other companies, and returned to once again join our team.
- 321 combined years of tooling experience, 294 years of combined molding experience
